Joseph Joseph Delta Folding Masher - Grey/Green

Not useful for its ourpose
The potato or rice anything that’s mashed gets stuck in the holes . Unlike the Indian steel counterpart the plastic isn’t sharp enough to get the food particles out. So half the food is wasted in the holes ! Buy the regular Indian one it doesn’t fold but it serves its purpose

Not worth the money
I had been looking for a long time for a potato masher with a single, centred handle, and thought this would do the job. I've used it once and put it to the back of the drawer. There's no locking mechanism on the handle (or at least, not one I could find), so it has a tendency to start to fold up in use. I also found that the holes in the head were too small which made the whole process frustrating and hard work. Some people might love it - I don't.

a little disappointed
This is my second folding masher from Joseph Joseph, the first was was a much used item which snapped. I didn't think twice when reordering the same item, as I had been so pleased with the first one. But this second one is less sturdy and when you swing the masher end round to use the little slider is very loose, which means it moves when you are mashing and the end sometimes folds back on itself to its storage position. So this can make mashing quite a bit harder and Moree time consuming. Not sure I'd bother buying another one when this one breaks😒

Who knew a potato masher could be such a joy
My kitchen is really small and I only have one small drawer for all my cutlery and kitchen utensils. My last potato masher was fine but because it didn’t fold it took up a load of space and often stopped the drawer from closing. The Joesph Joesph masher is a God send. It’s really solid and so easy to fold and unfold but most importantly it sits so neatly in my kitchen drawer I can fit more items in the drawer. Tapping the masher on the side of the saucepan allows all the potato to fall out of the round holes. I just 100% love it.

Slightly disappointed
In general this masher is good in that it is easy to use and sturdy. It folds nicely so takes up less room in a drawer. The downfall of it's design is the waste of potato that gathers in the holes when you have finished mashing, no matter how often you tap it on the pan, which is not good especially on my new saucepans, being that the masher has a metal handle.Ok I could poke the holes with something to get the potato out, by the time you have done that you would have to heat the potato up again. I am surprised no one seems to have mentioned this already.

No very robust
We bought this in January 2019 and at the time of writing October 2020 it has broken. After infrequent use, say once or twice a month, it has snapped at the hinge and the only place for it is the bin.We were impressed with the lack of space it took up in our over-crowded kitchen drawer and the ease of use.We have now purchased a foldable Lakeland masher to see if it survives any longer.
