Rok Hardware 8mm Plastic Hinge Dowel Inserts with Screws, 100 Pack

I got replacement cabinet doors drilled for cup and dowel hinges, and these worked like a charm. After searching several local hardware and big-box stores in vain for 8mm plastic dowels, I ordered these.At first it seemed like the dowels were too big for the holes, which were supposed to be the correct size. I found the best method to get them in was with an initial good hard whack with the hammer. Once seated, I used a small wood block on top of the dowel and two more good whacks to get them in flush.I only wish they had a smaller, less expensive package because I only needed 8 sets. But it was still less expensive than getting 4 new hinges.

The dowel inserts were of good, firm quality. Including the screws was a huge plus. The inserts were easily pounded into a 3/8" hole of appropriate depth. Installed upper cabinet doors in less than 20 minutes. Perfect alignment. Happy to have a bunch left over. They will certainly see future use. Great product

I just wanted to leave a note that though the head is the right size, because of the taper and lip-- and my hinges being from who knows where (the cabinets are not standard and odd all around so I had to reface to save the recently added granite and not add insane custom work as well.... they won't work for me, it seems like it will sit, but slip.I only wanted to write this so someone may not be frustrated. I may work for you, but I have to return. They also have single metric drill bits here on Amazon, which I will also need to return.

The reviews talk about pounding these in with a hammer. A true brut force solution that can damage the doors, particularly if they have glass like mine did. A much more elegant solution is to press them in using an ordinary wood clamp. Did a great job and minimized possible damage to the door.

A "must have" item for mounting a variety of things on brick, mortar or masonry. You need hammer drill and a 5/16" masonry bit although a regular bit will do for mortar or soft brick.I've used them for mounting a ceiling fan remote control holder on the back patio, outdoor security camera brackets, holding wire clips for power cords and USB cords, hanging a clock...The plastic anchor fits snugly in the 5/16 hole - you'll need to tap it in with a hammer - and then the screw causes the anchor to expand further to provide a very solid grip. You get a hundred anchors and hundred screws, so possibly a lifetime supply.

This product is used for cabinet hinges. I got new doors made and they drilled a dowel hole which I wasn’t expecting. Luckily someone told me about this product. These fit perfectly in an 8 mm hole. I followed another reviewers suggestion to used a block of wood on top of the plastic insert and hammered them in. Easy to install with a tight fit.

The product itself was as expected and worked great. However we were in a position to need exactly 100 of these and figured ordering the 100 pack would be perfect. What was delivered was 98 dowels and 102 screws. We contacted Amazon and they gave us a partial credit, however, we had to order an additional pack for the 2 dowels we ended up needing. So if you need exactly 100 you may just want to order 2 packs to begin with.

Good dowel for cabinet door insert. Filled the hole perfectly and expanded for a slightly oversized fit.
