LapGear Designer Lap Desk with Phone Holder and Device Ledge - Aqua Trellis - Fits up to 15.6 Inch Laptops - Style No. 45422

I wanted to love this laptop desk. It looks nice, and the elastic and pencil/phone holder is helpful so I don’t lose my things in the couch. Unfortunately, it reeks of chemicals. It took me a few days after Christmas (as we had several new items hanging around) to figure out where the awful smell was coming from and why I had a headache for a few days in a row. Then I actually looked at the consumer tag, which informs us that the filling is 100% polystyrene. So I was breathing in these toxic fumes for hours at a time while using the item. Great. For those who wonder why that’s a deal-breaker, polystyrene is a carcinogen. We have enough of those around us; is it too much to ask that my couch/bed be a haven from carcinogenic toxins?!?I’m hoping I can find a comparable item that meets my needs and isn’t filled with toxic material. If not, instead of returning it I will cut the fabric, dispose of the filling safely, cut a memory foam pillow that I don’t use to fit inside, and stitch the fabric back up.

This one was listed as used, at a reduced price and in "very good condition". However it had been dropped and two corners were smooshed in, the vinyl edging was split revealing the particle board underneath. Being handy I decided to keep it and do a repair with glue and paint. It is now functional with no more sharp edges to catch on anything. My dissatisfaction is due to the misleading "very good condition" the seller indicated.

The item was put in upside down so when the box was opened the fabric was ripped before it even got taken out of the box and now there are balls everywhere

The lap desk was attractive .It was a good choice for my 13 year old grandaughter. It had a chip on the desk top that looked like it could have been dropped before shipping. It seemed a bit flimsy considering the price.

I bought this lap desk to use in my car because I am often working outside the office. I mostly use it for note taking, calendaring, writing etc when on calls and in between stops. (I’m a journalist.) The product is gorgeous and well made. The cushioning is sturdy and perfectly plump. I love being able to put my iPhone in the top right phone slot. On occasion I I’ve actually gone out to my car in the evening to retrieve it in order to work on my couch because I prefer this desk so much. The weight suits my tastes. I was very surprised by how much I love this lap desk. I’ve owned quite a few and this is my favorite by far. I bought the Argyle pattern in the small desk size. I plan to purchase a second desk for home.
