They passed the test.
I have 1 room in my home that gets hit directly with the late afternoon sun. It is noticeably hotter than the rest of the home to the extent that we purchased a portable air conditioner for that room when we have guests. I had purchased "room darkening" curtains a while back which helped but not enough. I bought these curtains to fit inside of the windows in addition to the other curtains. Yesterday was the test. I walked into the room at the end of the day, temperature reached 94 degrees outside. I couldn't believe the difference! They worked. The hot box room actually felt like the rest of the home...I could feel no change in temperature like before. I am so thankful, and they were so reasonably priced too!! A win, win!

Nice curtains !
I have these curtains in my Chevy Express based camper van, providing me with a way to keep prying eyes out of the back of my van when I am in a suburban, or urban environment with it. They do work pretty well as blackout curtains when camping, but that is a secondary function for me. The blue gray color goes quite well with the interior of my van, so that's a plus. They are a little long and not being much of a seamstress, I used a stapler and some hot glue to "ahem" the bottom edge.

Excellent quality blackout curtains!!
These curtains are of very high quality, and they look incredible. They are very soft with a velvety shine, and the 42x63 size fits my window perfectly. It was easy to install, too. I simply slid it onto a tension rod and hung it. I have a sensitivity to light, and I was never able to find decent curtains so I always pinned thick blankets to my windows. No longer need to do that now that I have these curtains.

Room darkening
I got the greyish white color in 72"L x 34"W for a kitchen window that's above a baseboard heater. The window hole is 52" wide I believe. The "greyish white" color is nearly white in regular lighting but gets darker when the sun hits it.The bottom hems are higher/shorter on the corners which doesn't really matter for us because they're covered by another curtain. But if I were planning on having only these curtains up I'd return them and try another brand. The curtains are what I would call "room darkening" not blackout. It's fine for our purposes though. A darker color would be way more effective but the dark gray we had looks weird with our other curtains. The outer layers of the fabric are white but there's a black layer inside that makes the fabric look more silvery white. When sun hits the fabric it looks like a warm light gray color because the black layer gets lit up.It's the nature of this type of blackout fabric so it's fine, but the fabric does look a little weird on the seams. The needle holes look huge because the inner layer shows through there. I've had several sets of curtains like this and the black layer only really shows up on lighter colors. So if that bothers you but you need a light color curtain, you might want to get a different type.We have a "pure white" curtain from a seller who has basically the same curtains as these in different sizes. The pure white doesn't have an inner black layer, it's just thick white fabric. You have to pay close attention to notice that the listing doesn't call them "blackout." We used 45"Lx42"W pure white curtains as 3/4" cafe curtains for privacy and to let light in. Then we have the greyish white blackout curtains up on an Eclipse double rod over that, with gray IKEA curtains over those. I think they look great together. If you use a blackout curtain as the under layer on a double rod, you may have no other reasonable choice but to use rings and clips to mount them. The rod pocket probably won't let you open the curtain all the way (they can only bunch up so far), and it takes some force to push them apart anyway. It will be irritating and time consuming to open and close them every day. When pushed to the side the fabric bunches up and presses against the outer rod (and against whatever curtain is bunched up on the outer rod). Grommets have the same issues, they don't fit. Also on our first try we got wider (52") curtains without thinking. If you use two rods, everything is easier when the total width of the blackout curtains is not much wider than the window hole. Our blackout curtains are only a couple inches wider than the width of our curtain rod. Typical curtains are supposed to be two or three times as wide as your window, to look nice and drapey. We wanted the curtains to be nearly flat when opened, because if they are wavy at all then more light can get in over the top. But also with wide ones there's way more fabric that you have to try to shove to the side of the rod when you open them. The idea was just to cover the window hole with a little extra on each side, not to drape at all. When all the curtains are opened these ones are totally hidden by the IKEA curtains on top. The rings make it so easy to fling all the curtains open, and they let you collapse the curtains to be really narrow. So anyway if you think you might need to use rings and clips, be sure to account for the clips in your measurements and place the rod correctly to account for them. Using clips adds a couple inches in height to the curtain, and lowers the top edge of the curtain closer to the window. If the rod is low you might have to move it up to use clips effectively. Also you may need to mount the rod wider to have room to push the open curtains off to the sides of the window if you use the rod pocket method.I put 7 clips on each blackout panel about 5.25" apart and that was enough to keep them pretty flat when closed. Eight clips might be a little better. If the clips are too far apart the top edge flops over between them.I'll post pics of the curtains in bright sun and lightbulb light, and of the difference between the white colors ASAP. The sun went down so I can't now lolHopefully this saves someone some time and money. It was tedious and expensive to figure out. I believe I started this project in 2013.

Works great for darkening!
Works great! Near total blackout. Bought these because my windows are across from my TV, and the reflection in dark scenes was terrible. Didn't have huge hopes because the color was so light (Natural shade), but they are awesome! Reflections gone.I used to have "room darkening" curtains, which I didn't know were a joke until getting these. In the picture in my review, you can see the old curtain on the right and these on the left. Awesome! The color of these is lighter than it appears but because the room is so dark now it looks darker in the picture. The material is also quite nice, it's soft and "flowy." it looks clean and neat. There aren't any care directions, so not sure what cleaning will look like, but at worst a hand wash wouldn't be terrible. The length is spot on and the width is just right for my application (single pane.)Recommended!

Works very well
These curtains really opened up my kitchen window above my sink. The blackout (which works very well) eliminates glare on my phone while I follow my recipe videos. I noticed my kitchen was considerably cooler with these hanging. The material flows well and does not wrinkle as easily after washing. I like that the design is subtle so that I can leave them hanging all year and not feel silly.

Perfect all around
These curtains worked out beautifully in my son’s nursery. They are thick and keep light out pretty well. You can see a tad bit of sun peeking through, but nothing that isn’t tolerable. Very easy to hang and length is perfect.
