minor complaints but worth
this laser prime is a figure that I thoroughly enjoyed. that being said it is not without a few flaws, none of them major but should be noted nonetheless. starting with paint applications I don't have much bad to say here, all colors are good and my copy has no issues with paint chipping and paint apps ending too soon. articulation is mainly good with the front and back kick giving you all you would want and a good knee bend. no ab crunch due to transformation but thats no big deal. the shoulders are the main offender for hinderances, they are big and bulky with only a pin joint moving them up and down. this blocks alot of arm movement and wouldn't have been too hard to fix. arms have a good bend and a strong grip on the weapons. only complaint on this section would have to be how they didn't fully close the hand making it sort of look ugly in my opinion but thats minor once you get him stanced with his massive stature. the head looks great and has a powerful silhouette, however the eyes are casted in a very dark blue plastic making them hard to see unless you have a light shining directly into his face. transformation is nice and fun, not too tedious and no risk of parts popping off randomly, there isn't any fiddling to get parts in just the right position and the torso is just plain cool to see go back and forth. like I said overall a very solid release and I am glad they are retooling this for toxitron and nemesis prime.

Could have been better
Okay, I'm not disappointed, since I'm used to frequently encountering QC issue on Hasbro's transformers products already. That said, I'm still unhappy with these issues. For one thing, the belly piece pops off very easily during transformation. This may happen before you transform that part or when you do it. You may want to leave it alone and attach it after you finish everything else, though this essentially makes Optimus a parts former. The right elbow is pretty loose, and as a result Optimus has difficulty holding combined form of two weapons. Somehow the left elbow is okay in comparison.Though I'm aware of weaknesses in design beforehand, I still wanna complain a bit here. The fan-like "axe" doesn't look like a proper weapon whatsoever; the Legacy line somehow often have such silly looking accessories, likely thanks to Hasbro's insistence on a line-wide "play feature". The backpack, which is essentially hollow in robot mode, could have been folded a bit, but this didn't happen probably due to constraint in parts number. At last, despite re-using some parts of Earthrise Optimus, this figure doesn't have articulated fingers, which probably also results from parts count constraint.-----separation line-----After all these complaints, I must also acknowledge effort designer(s) put into this figure. In particular, the transformation scheme is quite 'involved' and interesting (without parts popping off, of course), and the trailer is also more complex and fun the Earthrise trailer.-----separation line-----Update: I received the replacement. This time there's something wrong with the eyes. Painting there is flawed. I'm done with this figure, I guess...

Good looking G2 Optimus
He's a little leggy as you can tell from the product shot, but he's built well and fun to transform. Highly recommend the upgrade set from DNA designs and if you enjoy this mold, Velocitron Scourge looks great as well. Toyhax makes a nice decal set for them both and really makes both of their modes look fantastic.

Great figure if a bit small
A blast to transform. Lots of joint flexibility. He's a bit small for a leader class. He's about the size of the voyager class Bulkhead. The trailer is what makes him a bigger figure. Mine had an issue with the waist piece popping out of it's joint while transforming, but it's easy enough to pop back into place. Quick google search leads me to believe this is a one off. Either way, a great toy for a child or figure for a collector.

Great figure to add to your collection the only thing I dislike are is his arms are loose but other than that he's amazing. transformation is a little tricky
