Should he break the law and steal a dog that loves him or should he allow Judd Travers, the meanest old man in the history of mean old men, to continue to starve and abuse Shiloh? We WANT Marty to break the law!All books in the series are excellent for grades 3 and up.

Wonderful Books! My 8 year old grandson loves reading these books!

Hurricane Ida destroyed our daughter’s books in her room with mold and mildew. She lost so many books, but she cried when she lost her Shiloh book. I was so happy to finally get the entire set for her!

Grandson age 8 loves Shiloh books . These 4 go in sequence. Perfect for him to read with some challenging words. True to life situations about a family living in a rural area, backwards and working class family. Some adultish situations, including abuse of animals and drinking too much, but not gruesome or scary for age 7 or older.

This is a delightful series. It's not just about "a boy and his dog." The story is much deeper than that. But it's told in a consistently believable style and tone that keeps you hooked (and sniffling from time to time). The series also holds up quite well from the first book to the last (which is "A Shiloh Christmas" and NOT included in this set - watch out for the listing which seems to imply that the set has all four books!) Each book has its own compelling story; you can read them in order or not, and they're just as good. Definitely recommended for any age.

I used to read this series to my third graders for story time just before they headed home. It held their attention and was character building. It's one of my all time favorite series, and adults will enjoy it just as much as kids.

Ordered this series. The box came compromised. Was no DVD in the second movie. Returning.
