Can both light work in different modes at the same time . Like front light stays on While back light flashes.?

Yes, each light can be in a different mode from the other. The front CAN be continuous while the back flashes and vice versa.

How well does this illuminate the road?

This light is intended to be seen and not to see far ahead - I would pair this light w an actual bicycle headlight of 800 lumens or more

Is the non-blinking setting putting out enough light to get the attention of drivers during the day?

Hi. It really depends on the amount of light - as I'm sure you can imagine. If you're in bright sunlight then a lot of lights will struggle but in the shade or a clouded sky then yes, they can be seen. The Topside light has a 100 lumen flash. Hhere are much brighter lights available but the design takes battery life, weight, size etc etc into account so having a 250 lumen++ light would compromise other features. They are great lights and are used by lots of cyclists. Hope that helps. Brightside

can you mount to helment?

Yes. It comes with two different styles of mounting brackets and some zip ties to hold the bracket in place. I found the zip ties to be too short for my helmet and had to use some longer ones. It is very secure once you get it mounted. Light weight too!
