No, it's been over a week since I bought this charger, but my charger is not very hot while charging.

Yes, it will light up in red when charging, and light in green when finished.

Q: does this work with macbook air late 2010

you may have to ask the seller. Seller listed from 2011 macbook air and up. I purchased for my 2015 model and it works great.
