Q: can this plastic welder be sanded and formed for a contour patch exterior pvc trim or is it more of an adhesive?

I find it to be an excellent adhesive, but have not tried to shape it afterwards.

Q: Will i need to use some sort of backing tape with this product? repairing atv fender that broke in half.

Make sure pieces are properly aligned. If fender is in two pieces, I would strongly recommend at least a 3 inch piece of similar plastic as a backer. Rough up surface apply epoxy, set backer, and clamp. You may also need to apply several fasteners ... flathead stainless steel machine screw is best

Q: Will this bond Polyurethane to wood?

This is for plastic repairs. Not the best product for wood.
