Great head torch. The 3 lights on the front are really bright, great for these winter nights. It came fully charged too so you can use it straight away. The red light on the back is a good idea too. Its comfortable to wear, fits well and easy to adjust.The design is great and its easy to change the modes.

I bought this because my other head torch had a battery cover that required a screwdriver to open. That's a terrible idea for camping and hiking, so I wanted a rechargeable headtorch that had a red light for night walking. This thing arrives looking like (and I quote my 14yr old son on this), a "special ops night vision kit".It's powerful - too bright really and lit up trees on the other side of a large field. If you want a searchlight on your head, this is it! Bats flying past, flew into trees and screamed for mercy (probably - you can't hear their high pitched voices after all). However the red light mode (which you use for map reading etc), was so bright, I had to hold my hand over it to dim it - or hold it at arms length. See the photo! After using it, my vision went purple for a bit - not the point of a red light really.I probably can't be overly critical about that but I think it is an oversight of design, and because the front sits on a plastic "plate" that doesn't let it fold flat, I docked one star.The headtorch does sit on your head quite well however and if you don't want it for close up work, it's great, seems well built and represented good value for money. Functionality seems good - it has several modes going from wide angle to beam, and the red light isn't offered on other ones, so good in itself. Battery life seems reasonable. Used it for two night hikes so far and no recharge done.

I used this at the weekend to walk a 100k. I used the torch between around 9.30pm- 4.20am and it was perfect, I swapped between the small and wider light depending on the terrain. So bright!! Best head torch I've ever had and i've got through loads! I would 100% buy again.

Wow, this thing is a beast, I thought at first it would be heavy and uncomfortable. Not a bit, felt very good either with a hat or without. There is a great variety of lighting options, I particularly like the red light as my hobby is astrophotography and the red light doesn't affect night vision. Other features I like are the way beams are adjustable and the fact that the unit is rechargeable.

This thing insane for the price - in a very good way. I have a couple of supposedly high end head torches, and while this Blukar is admittedly a little bulkier, it serves my needs better in in every single way.It's transformed my early morning / early evening dark winter walks where I can now actually see where I'm going, and on the rare occasion a vehicle approaches from behind on the rural lanes where I live, it's alerted by the red lights on the back of the strap / battery compartment. Awesome.I also recently got into astrophotography and light painting and the Blukar has also made that so much easier. I sometimes hike for quite a way to get to dark sky locations, then use the red light to aid my vision of the night sky and camera controls without my pupils narrowing due to a bright white light affecting my vision, take lots of pictures - sometimes with the torch illuminating surrounding features in the process - then hike home or back to my van with ample battery to spare.I live pretty rurally on a farm, so even going out to get firewood from the log shed has been made easier, and even a few of the other regular hikers / walkers I see on my travels have asked me where I got it and are knocked out by the quality to price ratio.Another reviewer mentioned the weight with both batteries inserted, but I honestly don't think the weight with both is an issue - it just feels natural, and above all comfortable, even after hikes covering many hours and miles.One of the best recent buys I've made on Amazon.
