Does it use the camera battery or does it have its own battery?

It Uses 5 different types of power source, 3 types of Sony Lithium (probably camera batteries 7.2v) 1 Panasonic of a similar type or 6 alkaline AA 1.5V (these give the brightest light but aren't so good in the cold-warm them up in your pocket!) or I use the Argos Contour Ni-Mh AA rechargeable that are available as a set of 4 with a charger at a good price-for most applications these are adequate although only 1.2v and slightly dimmer. I put my CN 160 in a Tesco value black padded lunch bag to protect it-it's fairly lightweight plastic construction. Overall excellent value but watch what gels (filters) you use to get the right light for the situation.

Is it possible to attach it to a CAMERA tripod? I am not asking about a light tripod. Many thanks.

Yes, the light does a have a standard thread (The same as on the bottom of a camera) on the base of the arm - the part that slots into the hotshoe.

Hi Andrea, I use mine on a tripod most of the time it screws straight on.I like to bounce the light off the ceiling near to my subject to get a more natural even coverage and that allows me to film from further back so that I'm not so intrusive.

Is there any way of attaching a constant power source to this light?

If you have a power source for your camera that has the 'battery' end to it (basically a clip attachment thing that clips into the place where the battery would go on a larger camcorder/broadcast camera) then you could attach that to it for a constant power source. If you are shooting on a DSLR then no.
