kinda cool but not super bright you need to have the lights off
Looks neat in the dark uses batteries not really expensive but its pretty small

Works great but very dim in bright room light.
The media could not be loaded. Used this as a cool visual element inside a costume "spacesuit" backpack. Looks super in a dark room but hard to see sparks in a well-lit space.

SHARPER IMAGE NOSTALGIA
Definitely worth the money. So cute and it works great. Love the feeling of nostalgia and also the size is easy for a desktop or shelf. My one gripe is it could have come with an adapter but I guess it keeps the price low. An excellent gift too.

Broken
The directions don't match the product. for instance, the directions say 3 AA batteries but you open it to put the batteries in and is 4 AAAA . I put the batteries in and the product doesn't even work.

Love it
This thing is so bada$$!!!! Get some rechargeable batteries real cheap on amazon. It is amazing to see the light rays actually are affected by certain sound vibrations. Put it next to a tv and watch.

It works but there's a few quality control issues
It functions decently well however it seems as though mine was not mounted properly as the ball is crooked. Not worth my time to send it back and I'm sure it could be brighter but I'm not really sure on the physics of that

Perfect Plasma Ball
I bought this Plasma ball for my cats. When it gets dark out I turn it on and when they touch it with their paws the blue static line follows the touch. They love it. I know it's for science, great for kids and adults, and my cats too.

Muy entrenida
The media could not be loaded. Es muy entretenida de ver y tocar, pero es difícil estar cambiando de baterías por el tornillo que tiene, yo conseguí un adaptador DC para conectarle, que además de que así no hay que cambiar baterías, hace que se vean más rayos de plasma.
