GCS Handmade D2 Tool Steel Hunting and Tactical Knife with Micarta Handle, Front Cross Draw Leather Sheath, and Full Tang Blade for Hunting, Military, and EDC - GCS189

I like the blade design on this knife and the sheath is a good quality sheath. The handle is my biggest complaint. It is made out of wood and is narrow. I was expecting it to be round or have a "palm swell", but it is shaped like your ordinary chef knife in the kitchen. In fact, I see myself using this knife with the buffalo hide sheath in the kitchen. It's pretty and appears to be capable, durable and even stout, but it does not seam like a bushcrafting/survival knife.The blade is just a tad to long for me to use as a hunting knife, but it should certainly do the job if you like a longer blade.Overall, it is good quality, nice looking and capable all while having a custom look. It came "blah" sharp, meaning it was sharp, but I was hoping they made the D2 in the blade "razor sharp". I ordered some angle guides and plan on putting on a 15 degree edge and cutting tomatoes and roast beef with it. It'll beat the other boring kitchen knives most people are using.If you need a knife you are truly going to use to "survive" in the wilderness. I suggest you look elsewhere; but if you want a knife to do what most knives do and that is cut. This will cut.Edit: the handle probably is micarta. It's still too narrow for me, but I spent some time sharpening at 14 degrees. This thing is sharp!Haven't had it long enough to give feedback on edge retention and I'm not going to do some test on purpose. It's just in my gut that this is an above average blade. Takes an edge, hoping the D2 reputation of holding it is true in this one

Good blade, easy to get a grip of the handle.The color of the handle is fading away from the friction of sheathing the blade in the provided sheath. Edge retention is not as good as I expected but it's a budget friendly knife

Great knife, nice and sharp, right out of the box. My one complaint is on the thinness of the handle, but a few wraps of duct tape fixed that.

This knife is well made and fits your hand very well. I have fairly large hands and it gives you good control. Its made so that it fits different size people.

I use this knife for making kindling, I beat it with a wood club. It holds an edge and takes a beating.

Excellent looking knife. Time will tell if it lives up to it’s looks... sheath is beautiful but very tight.. needs some serious breaking in.. overall I’m satisfied!

I’ve spent a lot on blades, for the price this is a great deal. I carry this more than any, If you have the cash and want one, get one. Won’t be disappointed
