its okay
I think I like the original one the best. Its cute and nice read for kids. The repeating phases make it easy for beginners to read. Its not very difficult for kids to read and follow along. You probably can try and sing to this song like the original version. The pictures are nice.

This Old Lady Can't Swallow . . . .
. . . .these horrible illustrations, but who I am to question the brilliance of this book. It's kid tested (loves!) and Montessori school recommended. This story, the Halloween edition, is one in a series of "Lady that Swallows Something" books. Drawings and one-note wonder storyline aside, these books teach sequencing and repetition through one woman's insatiable and absurdist appetite. Not exactly a piece of masterful writing, but great for a quick laugh.

Theme Based story based on a classic
My students (ages 3 - 6 with moderate to severe special needs) LOVE these books. I make sure to read (sing) the original version (There was an old lady who swallowed a spider...) several times throughout the year so it stays fresh. I read these theme versions when we are studying something close to it (read this one when we were studying Bats for science). Yes, I DO sing them and encourage participation! Great FUN!!! Collect them all!

Great books
My son loves all of these books. He doesn’t like to read so anything that gets him interested is good.

My 7 Year Old Hates Reading....
Going to purchase the ENTIRE series. It's the only way I can get this kid to read a book!

Teach Reading
Great addition for Dr. Seuss lovers; interesting story and child can follow along and learn to read. My granddaughter loves these books and wants to read them over and over again.

My toddler fell in love with the first book "There was an Old Lady ...
My toddler fell in love with the first book "There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Fly", but the end of this book didn't live up to the others, when the old lady spits out the items/animals, etc. she's eaten, there usually is a big surprise saying "Happy Halloween" and out comes all her friends, this didn't have that - being a Halloween-themed book, I thought the outcome would've followed suit...disappointing. She was gearing up for the grand finale, but it wasn't as fun as the others...I don't think I'll purchase the rest (frog, bell, leaves, etc.)

Halloween Book
Lovely Halloween book. Children loved the pace and flow of the story. I was expecting something more at the end - like a creation from all of the things she swallowed, but instead it just says "trick or treat".

Cute but not for toddlers
Cute story but not for toddlers. It did not hold their attention enough. Would work well for preschool children.
