Will this work with any nerf ultra darts or only the accustrike ultra darts?

Any of the ultra darts will work

I don't think so. The barrels spin but the darts shoot from a single center tube. My boy bought it w a gift card he received, so I didn't have much say so.

Can the barrel be taken off?

I'm about to break the barrel off, it's useless, and makes the gun way too long for kids. any other last minute ideas?
