Early this year we ordered water filters like this one, which were the exact same size and .5 micron. The new filters gave very little water pressure and was taking 10x longer to fill a half gallon container. After 2 months I went over past orders to find and order this again and they are sooooooo good in comparison.

Amazon listing states 0.5 Micron. Product packaging does not mention filtration particle size. Installed flow rate is much higher than removed .5 micron filter. This filter is installed after a whole house 20 micron filter. Water from the whole house filter in a clear glass is clear. Water from this filter is brown. Black indicates poor quality charcoal. Brown indicates something more nefarious. Water has a saline taste. I have removed the filter over health concerns.

There's no problem with the fit but who is to know if it's really filtering what it is supposed to.

Tastes the same, and the water flows faster, causing bubbles. The water is not orifice controlled to reduce the bubbles in the water that comes out. It's half the price of the GE brand, and filters the same. The seals on the ends are not glued in place, so some Vasoline on them helps keep them on when changing them.

better than most water filters at removing rust from the water. It's still there but no longer staining my clothes, which is a big improvement over the others I've tried

After running five gallons of water through this filter, I thought it was ok. The following day I got a glass of water and it tasted poorly. My son told me later that day that he had run another 2 gallons of water through the filter and he also thought the taste was not good. It was also a bit cloudy. These are unsatisfactory. My water was better without the filter.

I have ordered these for years, they work very well

Firstly I would like to say that the sellers response was excellent and immediate to refund my purchase although I had to pay $25 on postage to return the goods to seller. I wanted these replacement water filters to work out but you waste too much water (purging 10 or more gallons) before it becomes clear and not sure if the water is still good enough to drink. The water still tastes a little strange. After I get my refund I will pay a little more for hopefully a better result.
