A seriously impressive recorder for the price
I was surprised when I opened the package and picked up the recorder. This isn't a cheap piece of plastic. It's actually made of metal and sturdy and feels well made. It's really small and you can put it in your pocket and forget it's even there. I turned it on with the slider switch and I was also impressed by the screen. It's small but easy to read. The software menus and button functionality take a little bit of time to get used to, but once you set it up, you're really only going to be pressing the record button on the front. It has a built-in stereo mic and it's very sensitive. You could totally use this for ASMR style recordings. There's also a built-in speaker to play back the sound. It's good and loud enough to quickly listen to recordings to make sure they sound OK. It includes earbuds and a lapel mic. Their quality isn't great, but I don't think you'll need them. The device by itself does everything you need. There's also a phone recording adapter, but I don't have a phone to test that.I brought the recorder to a loud EDM show with lots of bass and the recording was washed out. This was expected though. I don't know of any equipment that can record high-quality audio under those conditions. You can use the included USB cable to attach to a PC and it shows up as a normal attached drive. You can just drag and drop the files. You can also put music on it and use it as an MP3 player. It's a neat bonus feature that might be cool to add sound effects to a project (I'm thinking spooky sounds coming from a jack o lantern).I set it to the highest bit rate (1536 kbps) and it says it can record 12 hours of audio on the 8GB of storage. I started recording and noticed that it splits the audio into new files when it is over 2GB. That 2GB file had about 3 hours of audio so the estimation seems correct. This was while recording in the .wav format. A 3.5-hour recording used about 2/3 of the battery though so the battery life seems to be the weaker link here. Although it is USB powered, so you can charge it from an external battery pack. I copied the files to my Windows 10 PC using the included USB cable and the transfer speed averaged about 13.5MBps.The battery also charges from USB and you can turn the device off and it still charges if it's plugged in.

Good sound quality. Confusing set up with inadequate instructions

Terrible instruction manual!
This is a great little recorder. The only reason I gave it four stars in instead of five is because it took a while to learn how to use it because of confusing and inadequate instructions. I am still getting used to it, no thanks to the written instructions!

Great sound quality for cheap!
I was not sure about getting a dedicated sound recorder. On one hand its kind off redundant, as a smartphone can achieve the most of the functionality. But fumbling around with a smartphone while attending classes got annoying so I decided to order this voice recorder. After using it for about a week, I must say I am perfectly satisfied with it.Some of the main points which struck my attention are:1) The recorder is quite compact and slips in and out of pockets easily, but at the same time has a nice weight to it and doesn't feel plasticky and cheap. The weight is good as I can be sure its still in my pocket without needing to check it all the time.2) The buttons have a nice tactile feedback to them. This is important to me as I was buying this device to primarily replace a smartphone for recording lectures. As the buttons are physical, I can now start and stop the recording without losing attention from the lecture. With the smartphone, I always had to go through multiple steps.3) Great sound quality. One of my classmate uses a Sony sound recorder which costs about 4x of this. For my purpose (recording lectures), I couldn't sense any difference in audio quality.Overall this is an excellent bargain, and is a great practical tool to carry with you to lectures.

Good quality at a reason price
I was so amazed at the size of this recorder, then to playback and how clear it was also from a good sized room. I record meetings because I need to generate meeting minutes & action items. Some speakers also are not loud to catch everything they are saying. This recorder picks up everything loud and clear! I'm able to transfer to my computer to save and listen to when I need to also. Great quality at a reason price.

Product is exactly what i was looking for
I love the product. Unfortunately, I can only use the record/play buttons because everything else is written in Japanese.

Neat Music Player/Audio recorder with good storage
So I ordered the recorder just to check out how it functions, and I needed one for my speech class anyway. And to be honest im surprised. It’s pretty good. The recorder came with a pair of earphones, charging cable w/ no usb adapter, an adapter for your telephone (a little outdated), a ethernet cable for the telephone, and a male-to-male cable. The recorder is both a music player and a voice recorder. It has 8gb of storage and doesn’t seem to be expandable but has options for purchase upto 32GB.So overall the recorder picks up pretty well. The sound comes pretty clear and you can upload music to it via your computer. Since I do have spotify I’m not gonna be really using the music player all that much but I’m going to be using it now to rehearse my lines for my presentations.I have a recorder app on my phone but its different from having an actual recorder. I’m more inclined to pull out the actual recorder than to go on my phone and open the app. It has something to do with the authenticity of it. Like your actually using a recorder.

Compact, light and does a great job
The sound quality is pretty good and very convenient to use. Because it is so light and thin you carry it your pocket. I tried and it worked very well.
