Easy to apply and a simple way to build a nice protective finish
Watco wood sealing products are great when used with best practice. Patience is always needed when using oil-based products. After using Watco products for more than 40 years, I have achieved excellent results with getting the finish to come out as intended.

Easy to apply, and leaves a beautiful finish.
Used the Watco Oil and Butcher Block finish to put a protective layer on my new countertop. It was easy to apply, did not have strong fumes, and left a beautiful finish that hopefully will last for a while! Very pleased with this product.

Beautiful natural look!
I researched a few butcher block finishing methods before settling on trying Watco Butcher Block Oil. I like how it emphasizes the grain without darkening the wood too much. This is a white birch butcher block that I purchased from Lowe's to turn into a desk. The interesting thing about this Watco product is there is certainly some sort of poly or varnish curing aspect, which one can tell from the smell after applying as well as when sanding with 400 grit between coats as instructed it appears to make some poly dust. I'm confident this will make a nice water-resistant coating.I did 3 coats of the Watco applied with an old cotton shirt, following all manufacturer directions for waiting time between coats and sanding/cleaning the wood. I love the final product, which brings out the grain in the wood while adding a nice golden glow and keeping it natural. The finish is not too glossy, more of a satin look.I have used my desk for about a month so far and it still looks beautiful. No visible wear or anything.

Does what it says!
I used this product on European Walnut butcherblock & Premium Southern Yellow Pine. This stuff did amazing work on the butcher block, it really brought out the natural wood color and made it pop. I really did not want it to stain the wood and it did not. I did apply 1 coat of poly on top after 3 coats of this stuff. The butcherblock you see in the pictures was done over 4 days. I did 1 coat in the morning and 1 coat in the evening for a total of 3 coats and then I did the same with water based satin poly but only used 1 coat and what you see is the end result. I'm very pleased with it. The results on the pine were less dramatic however, it makes the wood a bit more yellowish and makes the grain pop a little bit more as well. I personally love how it turned out in both of my applications and very happy with this product.
