If the batteries die while im out can i put normal batteries in?

If you are looking for a high-powered head torch then you will not be able to use alkaline batteries of the standard sizes (AA, AAA etc.) because they just do not put out enough power to run these newer Cree T6 and XM-L2 LED's. They use Lithium - Polymer (Li-Po) batteries in the standard size of 18650 and less commonly 26650. An 18650 battery typically outputs 3.7v and looks very much like a chunkier AA sized battery. My suggestion, and something I always do if I'm going to be using my head torch for more than an hour, is to carry a few spare 18650 batteries on your person.

How long does it take to charge?

On arrival my torch had some charge. I use mine for night fishing, usually 4 or 5 hours. It always has charge and only takes about 2 or 3 hours to be fully charged.

Can you take off the top strap?

Not tried but it helps to keep the lights in place. The lights are quite heavy.

Does it work with flat top 18650? Thanks

I'm not sure but thres regular 18650 battery's in it the battery life isgreat
