No muss no fluff It works, open up the switch, get down to the cartridge module, remove cartridge module, install new one, close it up and it works.Installation was relatively easy If you have a rudimentary hand at technology and it helps obviously to get on ifixit and find a tutorial on how to get into the system, what to unscrew...etc

My child approached me saying the switch wouldn't read the game cartridge, investigated the card slot noticed bent and broken pins, ordered up a new slot and when it arrived I took apart the switch and replaced the card slot put the switch all the way together and tested and haven't had any issues since replacement, would buy this again without thinking twice

Our Switch sadly stopped reading cartridges after nearly seven years of play. After considering sending it to Nintendo for a high price without a guarantee that it would be repaired, or buying a new one, we decided to buy this cartridge reader. Came quick and in perfect shape, was super easy to put together with the help of a YouTube video and some tiny screwdrivers. Fixed the problem immediately and we no longer have to worry about spending hundreds on repairs or a new Switch. Highly recommend!!

The pins were bent in our old Nintendo switch for about a year and would not read any game we put in. When I called the local repair shop they wanted $200 to repair. I happened to see this product and watched a YouTube video and was convinced I could do this. The price is cheap compared to a new system and even the repair. The only downside is that you need to buy the y-tipped screwdriver due to the design of the council. I replaced part in about 30-45 minutes and everything works great and saved me a ton of money.

The card reader I received did not work, as others have stated as well. Ended up having to get one from IFixIt for twice as much, but that one did work. Leaving 2 stars because the 3.5mm headphone jack did work. However, the card reader and headphone jack are all one complete piece, so even half a failure is a total failure. Seeing as how the product half worked, and the return process was quick and easy, I'm leaving 2 stars. I'd say save yourself some time and spend a little extra for the product that is guaranteed to work.

This item is not a match for the Nintendo Switch and thus you will inevitably have to buy a better OEM product instead of this like we did. It’ll create screen touch issues when in handheld mode. Sadly our return window closed three days ago so we’re stuck but warning to everyone else that you actually want to purchase this part from iFixIt who sources the OEM version.

Took about 15 minutes to install. Works perfectly.
