Works great when alternated with prescription shampoo
I got this shampoo for my husband after his dermatologist recommended we purchase it (through his clinic, of course) and use in tandem with what he prescribed. Everybody has different chemistry, but my husband's results noticeably came after 3 uses. Please note that when his prescription was used alone, it wasn't as effective as when we added this to the regimen. It doesn't really have a scent and whatever scent there is, it isn't unpleasant. After using, his hair was really soft like a baby's and I was, admittedly, kind of jealous.

great shampoo
have a problem with otc shampoo's due to sulfates. after age 55 i started showing hair loss up front, and for a woman, this was devastating. i know that with hight blood pressure pills, cholesterol and thyroid pills also that i had started on that with stress on top of that that i was needing some answers to my problem so a dermatologist suggested this shampoo (plus started me on Walgreens..mens formula hair loss treatment called minoxidyl, which is working by the way...don't use the women's formula, it's too weak!)...well this shampoo needs just one lathering and your hair is clean and soft and your scalp does not break out afterwords. I still use Loreal's hair conditioner several times a week just for extra moisture but i would definitely recommend this shampoo and will continue to use.

RECOMMENDED BY MY DERMATOLOGIST
My dermatologist recommended this product for my scalp issue and gave me one bottle in the office. It completely took care of the problem. I will be using this shampoo from now on as she directed.

Just started using
So far I find it cleans well. It is a little dryer than I’d hope. I do the conditioning twice for that reason. Haven’t used it long enough to see less hait fall, but I’m crossing my fingers.

Great shampoo for removing flaky buildup on scalp
I'm a 55 year old woman with Ichthyosis Vulgaris and have always had flaky buildup on my scalp. It never bothered my that much until I noticed severe thinning in the crown of my head. I went to my Dermatologist and she prescribed me 'Ketoconazole 2% Shampoo' She instructed me to lather into my scalp and leave on for 5 minutes, rinse out, then follow with 'DHS SAL Shampoo' and leave in for another 5 minutes. She also recommended I start taking 'Nutrafol' supplements to help with the hair thinning which I resisted as they cost $88 for a one month supply! I asked if she could recommend a less expensive alterative and she said 'Hush and Hush Deeply Rooted' is also great, so I will be getting this one as $56 a month doesn't sound as bad, especially if I end up taking it for a long period. After following the shampoo routine a few times, the difference is amazing. I can now actually see clear skin on my scalp which shines in the light. I've never had a clearer scalp! To help with the hair thinning, I'm also massaging the scalp 3 times a week with my concoction of rosemary, pumpkin seed and grapeseed oils and after 6 weeks of use, I'm seeing tons of baby hairs and hopeful my hair will start growing back. In addition, I'm drinking a lot more water, eating healthier and exercising as I think lifestyle makes a difference. For those of you suffering hair loss, I wish you all the best in your journey. Good luck
