what does Molle equipped mean?

Looking at the picture, those little little sewn on nylon things are actually little loops. It's a system to attach gear to something. It will let you put a knife, flashlight, first aid kit, holster, or an additional pouch on the outside of the pack. This lets you use the full inside of the pack, and have a couple things outside. The items are very secure, but carrying like this allows immediate access, without having to open the pack. Some knife and multi tools sold on Amazon have an option for a MOLLE sheath, rather than a regular belt sheath. The loops are the sheaths will be too large for regular belt carry. The loop on the sheath opens, and slides though the MOLLE loops on the pack (usually 2 or 3 of them), and that's how it's held.

Nothing is water proof. The bag does a good job in the rain, but don't set it down on something wet. There are hold in the bottom of the bag that will let water in.
