Keep the flakes out of your hair!
On my Sennheuser earphones, the foam on the headband started flaking and cricking, and leaving particles of foam in your hair. Hence this headband condom that fits over the headband.

Cheap and easy way to keep expensive headphones usable.
Replacing the OEM headband on the PXC550 headphones requires partial disassembly, and this was more than I wanted to take on. Installing this fabric cover over the existing headband was a much simpler solution. Zipping it in place proved an easy task given the size is just right to fit snuggly. I have no complaints about the comfort. The only downside is that it's not an attractive solution; the exposed zipper and flared ends gives away that this is an aftermarket cover. I'm just glad that I don't have to replace the headphones.

Better than buying new headphones
Not going to be quite as comfortable as the original headband, but it will save you from getting new headphones.

Avoid at all cost
Bought the headband cover with the can pads. It’s plain awful thing to put on the headphones. Would definitely not buy again.

Headband for PXC 550
The write up says easy DIY installation. After trying for quite a while, I give up and will be returning it. The zipper catches are too small and I cannot align them

An inexpensive solution that's comfortable, but...
It's very noticeable - it obviously looks like you're trying to cover up the original headband. Other than sending the headphones to Sennheiser service center or trying to get a new, original headband and replacing it yourself (which is very tricky), this is the best solution. It did not come with instructions but it's pretty obvious what needs to be done to install: place it over the existing headband and zip it up. I did find it easier to install if I extended the earpads and started to zip it over the thinner metal band. After zipping it up about 1/4 of the way I slid it up into the final position and then finished zipping it up.For me, this is a temporary solution - spending a little money now on this cover to save 10 times as much on a new set of noise cancelling headphones on Black Friday.
