Is this the kickstarter version?

This is the retail kickstarter version. Mechanic + fifth player expansion + play as intruder, etc. No carnomorphs, voidseekers, terrain, aftermath untold stories 1&2.

How long to learn the game to where you can play it? Is it overly complex, or would it take an hour to teach someone the rules?

It probably depends on your experience with somewhat more complex games and your experience explaining them, but I’d say somewhere between 20 minutes to 1 hour. (Other factors would include your comfort with these particular rules, your groups comfort with moderate complexity games, how many questions they have, etc...) A game like this isn’t the most complex game to explain, but it’s one that has a decent amount of little rules to go over. With my gaming group I normally would take 15-35 minutes with a game like this (I can’t recall how long it actually took.) For background, I’m the one that always explains rules to games and having been doing it for over a decade. My experience with going over the rules for somewhat more complex games comes from games like Twilight Imperium (30 minutes - 1 hour) and War of the Ring (30 minutes - 1 hour) etc... This is also a game that you can explain some rules as they come up (like combat) but others should be explained beforehand (surprise attack > cards in hand) I’d also add that if you plan on playing coop, you wouldn’t need to explain everything immediately, because you guys won’t be against each other and you can help as you go along. This is a game where you CAN (mostly) explain rules as they come up if you’d rather do that. Hope this helps!

Are the minis preprinted for painting?

I'm not sure what preprinted for painting means but they are just little plastic 3D minis with a good amount of little details. I did paint them and they came out pretty good. for the crew members you are going to need some tiny brushes .

Is the minis sundrop?

No, the sundrop minis was a special kickstarter version.

Damaged!

The first eye catching part of an expensive board game is the box it comes in. And the design for Nemesis is top class! But sadly the one I received had a hole in it, I would understand small dents in corners that may happen from shipping, but this looks like a hole someone intentionally made as it has gone deep until the components of the board game.Really Disappointing!
