Terrific building set!
This is a terrific building set! The recipient of this gift loved that the set could be used in two different ways. The value of this set was good. It wasn't too difficult to assemble, and was a lot of fun. The build quality was quite excellent.I'm glad I purchased this item.

Excellent and very challenging edition to the series
This is my sixth Exit the Game play-through. My husband and I do these as a shared hobby and also enjoy live escape games. Compared to some of the other Exit games, I would say this is definitely a step up from beginner level, but if you're experienced with Exit games, it's solid. I found the puzzles to be challenging, for sure, but they all made sense. We never had an issue not being able to work out the solution, even though some of the puzzles took a full twenty minutes. We don't worry about time when we play, so that takes the pressure off to perform quickly. Plus, we have to have time to refresh our wine glasses. After reading some of the other reviews, I feel like it is important to point out that while I understand that it can be frustrating to not "get" a puzzle, that doesn't mean that it doesn't make sense to someone else. I see this over and over when my husband and I play: something will quickly click for me and he'll sit there looking confused while I solve it, and sometimes it's the other way around. In the case where no one in your group figures out the puzzle without help, it's not that the puzzle is at fault. And neither are you. It's just that the puzzle doesn't connect with your particular way of thinking. And that's why it's great to have the tiered clue cards. Sometimes all you need is a touch of guidance and sometimes you'll need more. The point I'm trying to make is that so far, with six games under my belt, I have yet to see a puzzle that straight up didn't make sense or couldn't be solved. I like that I don't instantly understand them all. It won't be any fun if I didn't have to push myself to find another perspective. My suggestion is to have people around you who think very differently than you do and to take the pressure of time away. If you get stuck, put it away for a day or two, or take a clue card and reconsider the puzzle.I now own all of the Exit the Game games and am steadily plowing through them. I'll let you know if I run into anything truly unsolvable. Until then, enjoy this game! It's full of excellent twists!

Great Date Night
This is the second "Exit the game" story that we have played, and it is so much fun! The puzzles and riddles are so creative and the solutions are always unique and exciting. I can't believe this is only $15! It is definitely a one-time use game, since you will end up cutting, bending, or writing on some of the materials, but it is totally worth it! I suppose you could photocopy the materials and play with the copies so that the original could be reused, but you would have to forget all of the solutions.

One of the best in this series
We've played every single one of these and I liked this one more than most. It was a bit different than others in that there were many separate posters instead of a single book, and only one play card instead of the usual many. If you've played others in this series, you'll have absolutely no problem with this one. Some puzzles were very cool and clever, one was quite hard, and one we needed a clue for because it really was quite complex and hard to decipher. Really enjoyed it though, clearly ripping off Stargate. ;)

Satisfying
We enjoyed playing The Gate Between Worlds in several leisurely untimed sessions and drew 2 Solution cards overall. The play was well-paced and there were plenty of clear, interesting illustrations. Some of the riddles were inspired but a couple were dogs. However, with an improvement in these riddles, The Gate Between Worlds could have been one of my favorites.THE PLAY:There is much to see and do in this game. First, you go through a gate to another world, solve 1-4 problems relevant to that world, and plug the results into a decoder. Then you transit to another world with completely different physics, biology, and logic.COMPARED WITH OTHER EXIT GAMES:This EXIT game by Inka & Markus Brand and Ralph Querfurth is a departure from other EXIT games. For example, it has only one Riddle card to get you started and 8 posters showing different worlds that pose their own multipart riddles. I liked the change from the previous card-dominated play.THINGS I LIKED A LOT:1. The pig.2. The last riddle.3. The creative worlds with amusing creatures and wild ecosystems. These created plenty of fast-paced story possibilities.THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE SO MUCH:1. This game seemed more difficult than other EXIT games at the same difficulty level2. Some Help cards were not very helpful. Without the extra Riddle cards, the abbreviated text did not provide enough space for explanations or examples.RECOMMENDATIONS:If this is your first EXIT Game, pick a Level 2 game to start. I rate The Gate Between Worlds between Levels 3-4.If you have played several other EXIT games, I recommend you try The Gate Between Worlds. This is a great game for 2 or 3 players, but 4 players is probably the max — more people would find it difficult to see and handle the small pieces. Make sure you have good light and a place where you can spread out several posters, so that everyone can see the details clearly. If you want to read more of my reviews or see other stuff, click my name to go to my profile.I hope this review has been really helpful and that you enjoy your free time a lot.
