yes, it fits under the standard airline seat, even stuffed quite full.

Is this machine washable?

Due to the plastic and metal combination on handle and straps I did not attempt as such I can't say what it will look like after the wash

Will the back Tablet pocket fit a 13in iPad Pro?

The tablet pocket in one of the two back compartments will fit up to a 10 iPad. The two back compartments are big enough for a 15 inch laptop. One could fit a laptop in one compartment and a 13 on iPad in the other compartment comfortably, as well as a 10 inch iPad if one desired. This backpack has plenty of pockets and compartments to house tons of things. The Swiss backpack is by far the best backpack that I have ever owned. Very thoughtful and well thought out design.
