Melissa & Doug Giant German Shepherd - Lifelike Stuffed Animal Dog (Over 2 feet Tall)

I lost my beloved German Shepherd Thor to cancer this last February. He was larger than life and filled my days with so much happiness. I wanted to keep his collar and have a token to remember him by and snuggle with until I can muster the courage to be a dog mom again. This stuffy is 100% so impressive. It's soft, sits up on it's own and is quite well made. You can see in the picture that it's wearing my old dogs collar which gives you an idea of size. He was 98lbs so his neck was quite large. The collar fits the doll perfectly. It startled me for the 1st few days when I would see it out of the corner of my eye and thought he was in the house. I wasn't the only one because I heard a friend yell out "Oh- Thor!" and then laughter when she realized she had been punked by a stuffed animal. So I clearly am not the only one. This is a very special stuffy- it is very cuddly. Buy with confidence. It's well made and very attractive.

I’m a CPDT-KA dog trainer. I got this along with an extra leash to use as a decoy dog when working with dog-reactive dogs. To this day it has been convincing enough to every single dog I’ve used it around. It is kinda strenuous “hopping” it around on the leash since it can’t move itself (lol), but it really does look real. I even keep the tag on the ear since I bought it so that if I have it in my car, people will see the tag and not break my windows thinking I left a dog in the heat. My boyfriend thinks it’s creepy and so does my cat, lol. Melissa and Doug have a reputation as repping excellent quality items and this plush German shepherd life like dog toy is definitely a quality item. I really don’t know why I purchased it other than it was on sale and I love dogs. I’m really too old to have plush animals however I really really like this beautiful toy. So far I have been looking for the perfect place to put her and she is currently watching over my hallway. The proportions are very close to a real dog and after loosing my k9 companion a couple of months ago I have to admit that it felt good to touch this beautiful plush dog. My remaining real live German shepherd does not have a problem with this toy. I simply introduced them the same asi would if the dog was a real living breathing dog. The sniffing began and then all was good . My real dog doesn’t mind having this life size dog in the house and she has left it alone and hasn’t chewed on it at all. I’m very very happy with this purchase and if I had someone who would love it, I would absolutely give as gifts. I have thought about buying this and some realistic looking plug kitties for my local nursing home as I’m pretty confident that this would be an awesome addition to the memory care patients. I know that my gifting of plush kitties and nice baby dolls have been well received. I would definitely purchase again and this is definitely gift worthy.

Oh I can’t say enough about this dog. So realistic , soft and durable. My 9 year old grandson Shepard had passed and looked just like one. Gave it to him for Christmas and he cried he was so happy.

From far away up to a few feet away, This is a fairly realistic German shepherd stuffed animal. The face is a little strange it kind of looks like a horse, but all in all it is perfect for what I need it for.I make knit and crocheted dog sweaters and coats so I use this as my “form“ while I’m making them. Then I take this dog and smaller ones I purchased earlier and put the sweaters and coats on them and display them at the farmers market and outdoor pop up market where I sell my crocheted items. They are surely a big hit! Almost every single person comes into my pop-up tent because the dogs are so realistic looking from far away.

This dog is almost as realistic as a living shepherd. My only problem is the snout and the paws. The nose is set on top of the snout rather than in front of it. And the paws are basically rounded with coloring.I intended to place it in cars to remind people how keeping animals in cars is dangerous, lethal. But with the discrepancies I'm not sure if it will have the effect I mean it to portray.

This stuffed animal made a great Christmas present and looks exactly like pictured.

So many people stated our “new dog” looks so realistic! The perfect companion for those who love dogs but can’t have them because of work/traveling!
