This laser is being used for marking firearms and related products.The machine is easy to setup and of reasonable quality for the price. It performs well on aluminum, steel, and stainless steel, although it requires multiple passes to engrave the required 0.003” of depth. That is due to the 30 watt power rating, which is not actually reflective of actual power output used during normal operation. I’d estimate it’s more like 20-25 watts at 75% output, which is where I tend to set it and leave it.Using ezcad lite is a joke.I spent about six hours trying to use ezcad that came with the laser and only succeeded in doing nothing but raising my blood pressure.I bought light burn, installed it, and was up and running in about thirty minutes.The only problems I had other than ezcad was that the laser focus is difficult to set and maintain. The laser works better on different sectors of the table, which tells me it needs more attention paid to setting up the focus and work area.
