Nice to hear them together again!
Highlight of this album is the moments where Rick Wright is exploring his part of the Pink Floyd sound. The wandering ethereal scales toward the end of the concert are really a nice way to break up the sound. Love that. Miss that treatment/part of the Floyd, really. Gilmour also seems more laid back than we hear him nowadays. Probably coz he wasn't all that (technically) good a guitar player in '73! He always had a certain feel and style tho' am not complaining. I just think Rick Wright was the real talent of this band. Now for the not-so-bad-really-The bad side of this album is that it is mostly an echo of the studio album...whereas earlier recordings of DSOTM were more experimental and wildly fun!!So this is a late recording of DSOTM but it is nice to hear a studio-touched, produced version of the live concert. Many of us have heard live versions of their concerts while over at friend's houses etc. and what I always liked was how DIFFERENT they were live up until this time.If you wanna hear an echo of the album, this is the one. I have no idea why they didn't release this in the late 1970s but anyway- worth having in the collection, but not as good as many live concerts they performed up until and perhaps including 1972. If you want to hear more original composition and fun version of DSOTM, search for "Violence in Birmingham" your ears will not be disappointed. But I'd definitely get this and support these old geezers in their retirement! (joking) Honestly, you'll probably like it.BTW... would be nice if they did a "World Stockhausen Tribute with the 'Pink Floyd _and_ Roger Waters'" --- just to annoy everyone except me! (joking again).Anywayz get it it's a nice album.

CD review. Sounds better than the 2011 release of the concert
I put off buying this when it first came out because I already had the 2011 Experience Edition of DSOTM which included this concert. But after streaming this edition, I was convinced this version was mastered better. So it’s worth buying again or if you don’t have it.The gatefold sleeve is nice quality and it has a good booklet.

Way better than expected
Reviewing Dark Side of the Moon is like reviewing a bowl of ice cream, what's not to like? But this is a live recording of DSOTM from 1974. The recording sounds so much better than I imagined a 1974 live recording could sound. Is it essential to own? No, of course not since we all have the original and most likely a few times over in different formats but is it interesting and worth owning and listening to? Yes, yes it most certainly is worth owning and listening to. For me, the high point of the live version is David Gilmour's extended guitar solo on "Money". The live version of "Any Colour You Like" is wonderful. There are enough subtle differences in the songs that keep it interesting and worthy of multiple listens. For that reason alone buy it and enjoy it.

RAW!!!!
I have heard many of the most recent Pink Floyd concerts, but never anything from their early period. I was very curious to hear some of that material, and this record didn't disappoint. You get to hear each member of the band playing raw, organic and unpolished, improvising and often changing parts, and I absolutely love that. The sound is really good for a record coming from 1974. The cover smells like an old book - you get the feeling of holding a true piece of history in your hands. I enjoyed every single bit of this concert.

nice record and the price is reasonable. it won't blow your mind.
Very nice sounding live concert and I own probably dozens of boots from this band ranging from soundboard to audience recorded ones. The sound here is very nice and exceeds most of those. I did expect a little more interesting guitar work especially on Time as we hear on Delicate Sound of Thunder but I can't say I was underwhelmed. If you do own a lot of boots like I do, you kind of owe it to the band to support them when they make releases like this available if you can afford it. I can so I did.The packaging is very nice including two foldout posters, one of which is particularly cool looking and would make a great gel pen piece if you know someone that creative. Most of us will probably just fold it back up and place it in the gatefold though ;)I will listen to it a lot as it's a nice change of pace from the studio record and some of the boots I've got do sound a little rough!
