This might be a dumb question but can the ferro rod be replaced or do have to rebuy this thing?

I can't really ever understand or rationalize a reason to replace it. As a survival tool, it will last you a lifetime. If you want a ferro rod for starting fires all the time, you can pick those up easily off any website, including Amazon. This is for JIC, not every day use and you would never need to replace the rod as it would start enough fires to last a lifetime.

Lol, no. It is a glass breaker, fire starter and whistle. Wouldn't count on it to start a fire, unless you have something else to use with the magnesium rod, but the whistle works and hopefully it would break glass in an emergrncy
